Prevent and Treat Your Acne with These Simple Tips
If you have acne, you know how frustrating it can be. You deal with all those breakouts and you just wish that your skin would be clear again. There are millions of people who are going through the same exact thing that you are going through. While it can be frustrating to deal with, you’ll definitely find that there are some things that can help you treat your acne. Although there are definitely some great medications out there that can provide you with results, you’ll also find that there are some simple things you can do on your own to treat your acne and prevent further breakouts.
Don’t Touch
One important tip that you need to remember is to make sure that you don’t touch your breakouts. While washing and treating them is okay, the rest of the time you should make sure that you keep your hands away. Touching your acne can actually put even more bacteria on your face, which can lead to further breakouts. Also, you should never try squeezing your acne as well. This can make the inflammation beneath the skin spread and make the entire problem much worse.
Cleanse Carefully
You also need to make sure that you cleanse your skin very carefully as well. Always make sure that you wash your face before bed and in the morning, but avoid those harsh soaps that can dry out your skin. Mild cleansers are the best choice for your skin and you should use it with warm water. Be sure you only wash gently, since scrubbing your skin will only irritate it and lead to further breakouts.
Change your Makeup
Just changing the makeup that you use can also help your acne problem as well. Many women actually use makeup that is oil based, which can wreck havoc on your skin. The oils that are contained in your makeup can clog up your pores leading to more acne breakouts. It’s best to avoid makeup whenever possible, but if you have to wear it, go with makeup that is water based instead of oil based makeup.
Wear Sunscreen
Some people seem to have the idea that sun exposure will help their acne look better. While a mild burn will cover it up for a few days, in the end it can make your acne problem worse than it was before. The sun is not good for your skin, especially if you are taking acne medications that make your skin more sensitive to it. Make sure you wear sunscreen when you’re out and avoid getting to much sun to protect your skin.
Don’t Mix Treatments
Don’t think that if one treatment is good, three are better. Acne treatments are not made to be used altogether. If you start doing this, the ingredients can start causing dryness and irritation to your skin, which can make matters worse for you instead of helping.
